Dr. Guerrero was born in Nogales, Arizona and grew up in Tucson where her parents owned a small business. Dr. Guerrero-Tucker graduated from University of Arizona College of Medicine in 2002. Gail spent 20 years working in the banking industry before attending medical school in 1998. She hopes to continue delivering babies and seeing patients in the hospital until she retires. Her clinic is also a site for training medical students and residents. Dr. Guerrero feels preventive healthcare is as important as treating diseases and welcomes a collaborative model of personal health. She has always been interested in people and public health issues, leading her to pursue her Masters of Public Health (MPH).
She also enjoys global health issues and has been on several medical missions to Nigeria and Honduras. She hopes to expand her horizons by traveling to other parts of the world as well. One of her other passions is health equity. She enjoyed helping the Arizona Academy of Family Physicians (AzAFP) plan its first ever Health Equity Conference in 2019. Attendees learned the importance of political asylum medical exams and the impact those can have on the patients.
Gail served as the Arizona Academy of Family Physicians (AzAFP) President from 2019-2020. She currently serves on the AzAFP Diversity Task Force and Legislative Task Force.
Dr. Guerrero is married with three grown children and five grandchildren with whom she loves spending any free time!
